PRESS INVITATION: On Tuesday the CEO of Microsoft Sweden, the Global Head of Talent Acquisition of Ericsson and the COO of impact hub Norrsken are invited by the Mayor of Stockholm to discuss how cities stay relevant and attractive to top talent in times of digitization and pandemic.

At the event, Invest Stockholm’s new talent report will be presented, examining how Stockholm can continue to attract the world’s top talent. When it comes to the attraction, development and retention of highly educated and highly talented individuals, with a specialized skillset, cities all over the world are jostling for position.

“A majority of all talents today choose the city before they choose the company or the job. That’s why it’s crucial for the City of Stockholm to stay attractive, open and welcoming to global talents. We have a unique position during times of pandemic to provide attractive working conditions thanks to early investments in the dark fiber network. But there’s more to be done to also excel in soft landing and talent retention, says Anna König Jerlmyr, Mayor of Stockholm.

“The report provides thought leadership into the difficulties around talent attraction and retention, which is the biggest issue facing CEO's globally over the past five years. Derived from sit down interviews with international talent who have moved to the city, as well as site visits to other progressive cities, the report provides suggested next steps on what Stockholm can do to be more appealing to international top talent. I look forward to broadcasting these findings along with areas to be considered at national level at 1pm on Tuesday.” says Patrick Walsh, author of the report for Invest Stockholm.
