Invest Stockholm, a part of the City of Stockholm, Norrsken and Sthlm Tech is hosting the first Stockholm Impact Week 6-14 September 2022, bringing together impactful and influential startups, talents, investors, business leaders, and policymakers. The purpose is to shed light on the global challenges that need attention, and the solutions to address them. Impact Week is taking place at different venues around Stockholm, including Impact Hub, Epicenter and SPACE, and is done in collaboration with a number of actors such as Sting, Feminvest, STHLM Music City, Circular, Coompanion, KI Innovations AB, Reach for Change, Drivhuset, Proptech Sweden, Sweden Foodtech, Downtown Camper, Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship, Royal Institute of Technology, KTH Innovation, and Vinnova.

Impact Week 2022 is a natural consequence of the continued ambition of the City of Stockholm to become the world’s leading city for impact investments and startups driven by sustainability and innovation to shape a sustainable future. Impact startups (companies whose primary purpose is to contribute to a more sustainable world) are essential to achieving the Paris Agreement’s global climate goals and Stockholm has one of the world’s most innovative impact ecosystems.

Already in early 2021, Mayor König Jerlmyr announced Stockholm’s ambition to become a global leader in impact investing and startups. The ambition was based on the record levels of investment combined with the city’s strong startup ecosystem and an ambitious policy agenda focused on achieving environmental goals. By April 2022, there were 240 impact startups in Stockholm in a wide range of business sectors. Sweden has the largest focus on social impact startups in Europe and as many as 10% of Europe’s impact companies are located in Sweden – many of these are based in Stockholm.

-We are honored to partner with Norrsken and STHLM TECH and to bring together the impact ecosystem to discuss and take action on the global challenges that we are facing, and contribute to finding ways to make impact and shape a better world, says Anna Gissler, CEO of Invest Stockholm.

Stockholm is already today an established home for impact investments and startups as well as other global organizations. The city enjoys a global reputation as a place that nurtures and grows purpose-driven innovations that have the potential to change the world for the better. International changemakers and investors are warmly invited to explore Stockholm and its many opportunities for creating a brighter tomorrow. Welcome to Stockholm – Home of Impact.
